establishing a routine...
Ava is officially one week old today.
She is a real joy. We have been concentrating on establishing a routine. It is amazing how quickly Lauren accepted Ava into the family. Whenever Lauren naps, Ava naps. Whenever Lauren plays, Ava naps. And so on and so on.
It is a wonderful blessing to have these two little girls in our home yet it is a huge responsibility for my wife and me. We are responsible before God for how we raise these children. I want to be able to stand before Jesus and be accountable and confident that I did everything I knew to draw my children close to Him. It is my prayer that parents don't take this responsibility for granted.

Community Impact Ministries are a hit...

What an awesome night we had in the Lord on our first Wednesday for our Community Impact Ministries!!
We had approximately 100 people on campus last night! We had 28 people show for ESL from 6-8p. We had 23 kids in our 1st-6th tutoring program. We had 11 kids in the toddler room, 10 kids in the pre-k room, as well as others in Adult Bible Study and Graded Choirs.
Two-thirds of the people present last night have never visited
Keep on praying for these Wednesday activities because they are the future of ministry at Bethany Baptist. If you would like to see pictures of what went on you can see them here.
Blessings to you and thanks to all those who made last night possible but one thing is sure; WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS.
Lets get others involved in what God is doing!!
Blessings,
Pastor Jeff

waiting on #2...
Good morning. Well, our new daughter Ava is three days late today. The wait is very hard. We want to see her little face and hold her but it is taking longer than expected. All things will happen in God's timing. Today, we launch our ESL program and our Wednesday night children's activities. We are expecting great things from our Wednesday night programs. We are convinced that this is the direction God wants us to go and we are happy and excited to do so. Pray for the families that we will meet. It is our desire that they know Jesus and that we can minister to them. Yesterday I was listening to Jerry Johnson Live on KCBI and was infuriated by one of the guests. He claims that a person is only a person if they are aware of time and can plan for their future (he said other things but this is the major premise for distinguishing persons from non-persons). This means that there are some animals (dogs, cats, etc.) which may be persons and some humans (mentally challenged, infants, etc.) who are not persons. This man also advocates abortion, infanticide, and assisted suicide. The "ethic" with which we view these issues will have ramifications in the years to come.

great things...
Good morning! Storms are on the horizon today. It is amazing how the weather can affect my ability to sleep. When it is rainy, I think I could sleep all day.
Church was great yesterday. Things keep getting better and better. God is really moving in the congregation.
Yesterday was the anniversary of the called business meeting in which I was voted to be the next Pastor of Bethany Baptist. It is hard to believe it has already been a year. Time really does fly when you're having fun. My family and I have had nothing but joy this past year and we look forward to more joy in the future. Praise the Lord for putting us here and I praise Him for keeping us here. I will continue to faithfully preach the word of God and count on Him for whatever comes next.
The future is bright because Jesus is in control.

say yeah...say yeah...
Look at the video below and post a response. Give me your honest opinion about what you see. Should someone this young be preaching? Is it possible that they have the authority? What is the right age if there is one?

Momentum...
Sorry for the delay!
It has been a couple of days since I posted but my family has been sick. We had a stomach virus that kept us down for a day and a half. This has put me behind for the week but there are many hours in the day.
Church is great! We are building momentum and we are enjoying watching the Lord work.
Pray for our brothers and sisters from Calvary Baptist in
Pray that we will have a great day in the Lord this Sunday and I will see you at our Father's House!
Blessings,
Pastor Jeff

To Him be the glory, great things He hath done.
Yesterday was a wonderful day at Bethany Baptist.
For no apparent reason that I can track, we had the highest attendance in Sunday School since I have been there. We had 152 people in Sunday School with 17 guests and 151 people in Morning Worship.
I am not driven by numbers but what this shows me is that people are excited about what God is doing at
